I'm Katie Lardner, a mixed-media artist, a mother of two boys, and multi-passionate entrepreneur.

I spent the first two years of motherhood completely focused on my son. I started feeling like something was missing. I had been doing creative projects and doing lots of crafts on my own, but I missed sharing this joy with other people. I started searching for creative workshops or craft nights to join and found nothing in my local area of London, Ontario. So I started The Craft Bee in September 2015!

The first workshop I taught was a beginner weaving class (where I made weaving looms out of plastic signboard) and 10 women signed up! Each month I picked a new craft, purchased all the supplies, and sold out almost every month. I realized other people were craving this creative community just like I was.

Here we are six years later (with two kids now) and I have taught over 30 workshops in local venues and also at Museum London!

I am excited to be able to offer in-person craft workshops again in London, Ontario. Now more than ever we need to come together as a creative community to connect and make things!  Check out all my events here.
